Maimonides, from descrption to us as Sabians: As Sabians we were interrogated by the Muslim authority, the Caliph for from the faith in Baghdad in the year 830AD, regarding (as far as Maimonides is concerned), our protected religion, we, as Sabians belong to: Because not we Muslim, because not we Christian, because not we Jewish, the Caliph said to us that we were without faith and we had to turn over to Islam or to Judaism, of one single religion to the other that recognizes him regarding being in accordance with The Qu’ran, after which the time came when he [the Caliph] returned from the campaign against the Byzantines, otherwise he would kill us: We, as Sabians, consulted with a lawyer that advised to us that our origin (as) solution in The Qu'ran that to clarify because Sabians exist (as) tolerable: Not was known what was specified by Sabians and so we took to our name from The Lord: Sabians as they were called from era recognized Hermes Trismegistus as the prophet and The Corpus Hermeticum as their holy text, to be a collection of Hermeticists: Validation of Hermes as prophet from arrival from recognition as Idris in the Qu’ran, or as Enoch in the Torah.
